WORKSHOPS

We offer a series of practical, fun and experiential workshops for pupils, staff and parents on a variety of topics impacting performance, mental health and wellbeing in school communities. These include workshops on leadership, coaching, mentoring, communication, personal statements, interview technique, dispute resolution, restorative justice and behavioural management. For schools that want to be more independent, we also offer a ‘train the trainer’ option so that staff can deliver these workshops directly within their school.

Pupil leadership workshop

3-hour training workshop where pupils learn tools and techniques to be effective leaders within the school community and in their future careers. They will learn about the qualities and attributes of a great leader and their own unique leadership style. They will also explore the principles of responsibility, authority, leading by example, communicating and speaking publicly as well as coaching, mentoring and managing pupils and teams.

Pupil coaching and mentoring

3-hour training workshop where pupils learn tools and techniques to be safe, supportive and effective coaches and mentors to younger pupils within the school community. As pupil coaches and mentors, they can help younger pupils solve problems, make decisions, accomplish tasks and plan for their future. Many older pupils get a sense of satisfaction, purpose and fulfilment when supporting younger pupils and this can also help with the maturation process. They will also derive a personal benefit as they can use these same tools and techniques to coach and mentor themselves.

Personal statements

1-hour workshop empowering pupils to craft a personal statement that is not only powerful and impactful, but truly representative of who they really are, their strengths, what they think of certain topics/subjects and what matters most to them. This will help them put their best foot forward and feel more confident in the hope of being considered by their chosen university, college or program.

Interview training

3-hour workshop giving pupils the tools and skills to perform well in interviews. This workshop will look at how to prepare for interviews, answer challenging questions, build a good rapport and be authentic. After completing this workshop, pupils will feel more confident and better placed to perform well in interviews, giving them the best chance of being accepted to their chosen university, college or program.

Year 13 endings and transition

1-day workshop giving Sixth Form students the space and time to reflect on their time at school. This includes an overview of how school has benefited them and the things they would like to resolve or develop acceptance for before leaving school. They will also learn tools and techniques to process the ending of this important and informative stage of life and transition successfully towards their future.

Powerful communication tools

1.5-hour training workshop teaching pupils powerful tools and techniques to communicate respectfully and effectively. This workshop will focus on the art of conversation, the importance of reciprocity, listening and questioning skills, building rapport and non-violent communication skills. After completing this workshop, pupils will be able to communicate with others more effectively and confidently. This in turn will help them in all aspects of life, including in their relationships with their friends, peers, staff and families.

Sleep

1-hour training workshop teaching pupils why sleep is important and valuable tips to get better quality sleep. After completing this workshop, pupils will be able to calculate their sleep requirement, set a realistic sleep routine, understand the classic obstacles to sleep and how to manage these ahead of time. They will also be given techniques to help them when they can’t get to sleep, wake too early or are feeling tired during the day. This in turn will help them feel more energised and be happier, healthier and more productive at school and at home.

Confidence booster

1.5-hour training workshop teaching pupils how to build and develop more confidence and a stronger sense of self so that they can make better choices, take good opportunities and thrive in life. This includes work on knowing what they think, feel and want at any given point in time and asserting themselves in relationships. It also includes work on values, qualities, core beliefs about self, body image and self-care.

Peak performance

1.5-hour training workshop giving pupils tools and techniques to perform at their best in all aspects of life. This includes work on goal setting, making a start, time-management, creating the right environment, performance energy, motivation, managing distractions and procrastination and accessing support and resources. After completion of this workshop, pupils will feel more empowered to accomplish what they want and fulfil more of their potential.

Exam busters

1.5-hour training workshop teaching pupils powerful revision techniques and how to overcome common obstacles to exam success, such as procrastination, distractions, exhaustion and issues of overwhelming and motivation. Pupils will also learn how to set realistic targets and prepare an exam revision schedule so that they stay organised and on track with accomplishing their target grades.

Coaching for teaching and learning

1-hour training workshop teaching staff valuable coaching tools to facilitate teaching and learning in the classroom. This workshop will look at how to use traditional coaching tools to engage pupils, spark interest in the subject, build rapport, improve focus and awareness, encourage a group discussion, concretise learning and set home-work tasks that get done on time. After completing this workshop, staff will be better placed to help pupils progress in their subject and achieve more of their potential.

Staff coaching and mentoring

3-hour training workshop where staff learn tools and techniques to be safe, supportive and effective staff coaches and mentors to pupils within the school community. As staff coaches and mentors they can help pupils solve problems, make decisions, accomplish tasks and plan for their future. Staff who complete this workshop will get a sense of satisfaction, purpose and fulfilment from watching their pupils progress with coaching and mentoring. They will also derive a personal benefit as they can also use these same tools and techniques to coach and mentor themselves.

Executive coaching for senior leadership teams

3-hour training workshop teaching school leadership teams tools and techniques to effectively manage and lead staff, strategically plan for the future, solve problems, make important decisions and achieve targets. The senior leadership team will also get a great sense of satisfaction, purpose and fulfilment when they start to see the positive impact of these tools and techniques on staff and the whole school community.

Staff wellbeing and protection tools

1.5-hour workshop teaching staff practical tools and techniques to promote and facilitate their own self-care and wellbeing. This includes tools and techniques to protect them from difficult and challenging material that they may encounter at school.

Dispute resolution and restorative justice

1.5-hour workshop where staff learn tools and strategies to effectively manage disputes and ensure restorative justice within the school community. This includes tools and strategies for investigating disputes, facilitating non-violent communication, calming heightened emotions, getting pupils to understand and accept different versions of reality, mediating the issues at the heart of the dispute and creating a plan for restorative justice that is agreed by all parties.

Parent coaching and mentoring workshop

1.5-hour workshop where parents learn tools and techniques to be safe, supportive and effective parent coaches and mentors to their children. As parent coaches and mentors, they can help their children solve problems, make decisions, accomplish tasks and plan for their future. Parents who complete this workshop will get a sense of satisfaction, purpose and fulfilment from watching their children progress with coaching and mentoring. They will also derive a personal benefit as they can use the same tools and techniques to coach and mentor themselves and other members of their family.
